Interviewer always seeks special skills(the skills that make you unique and a problem solver). While asking you questions, the only intention is to choose a responsible person who can handle the job role and is a problem solver. Consider these 2 cases: Case 1: You have 5 KTs throughout your engineering journey and you are passionate about programming so in these four years you made some self developed systems, programs, algorithms, codes etc and that is your portfolio (skillset). Case 2: You are a topper of your class, always scoring 9.5 pointer and in your engineering journey but you don't have anything to show as your work experience or portfolio (no skillset). During interviews, Case 1 has 10x chance of securing a job than Case 2. That is because industries never judge you on the basis of your report card, they will judge you on the basis of your skills. Hope this helps you and gives you a better perspective. Tag your friends who need to read this!
